well aren't we? :p fanatics are always the worst... fanatic muslims are the only ones doeing harm... any other lives in peace just like we are trying to do. islam religion is actualy quite peacefull and serene. fnatics screw that up by being into the religion so much that they believe they must destroy all others. dumbasses
mohammed's last words on his deathbed were "Turn the pagans (non-Muslims) out of the Arabian Peninsula."
this is the battle cry of modern islam, reflected in the violence in muslim societies against anyone they consider "non-muslim". sunni muslims consider shia muslims "apostates" and much of the violence in iraq is directed at shias. looking at recent history of islamic societies this is hardly an abberation
what rudolph did is widely condemned in the american press. but you'll be hard pressed to find condemnation of most islamic terrorism in arab press (except that press aimed directly at appeasing the west). read private and semiprivate islam forums and you'll see a lot of truly vile rhetoric by "typical" muslims praising insurgents and terrorists and 9/11.
i recently had a discussion with a pious muslim who delighted in demeaning all non-muslims and calling them "kafir" (infidel) as a badge of honor. i was only able to stop him using this term by pointing out that the term "kafir" is used in south africa as "nigger". so he stopped using the term, but continued to delight in demeaning non-muslims. he also enthusiastically advocated violence as a solution to political issues and considered nonviolent protest (like dr. martin luther king or gandhi) as a sign of weakness.
you have leaders of "moderate" muslim nations such as the prime minister of malaysia (Matathir Mohamad) saying:
"They (the jews) invented socialism, communism, human rights, and democracy, so that persecuting them would appear to be wrong, so that they can enjoy equal rights with others"
um, what.the.fuck?
a nice analysis of matathir's speech can be found here.
keep in mind matathir's rhetoric is actually pretty tame for a muslim.
some people say the western media 'demonizes islam' and 'makes islam look bad'. no, you only have to look at what arab media itself and what muslims themselves are saying. don't need the west to make them look bad, they stick their foot in their mouth all by themselves.
modern islam is anything but peaceful. it will take a lot of reform in islamic societies to achieve it, probably 100 years or more. sadly moderate voices in islam tend to be censored (by the government) or murdered (by extremists, of which there are many).

I think bani that you have to find modern islam in europe or the states and not go look for it in a true islamic country. I know plenty of muslims who believe in whatever it is they believe in the same way as christians believe in whatever they believe in. Yes Islam needs some reforming but do not get angry with the Islam as christians did the same not so many years ago. Killing non-christians etc etc etc.
@ nellie
Yes and the march to complete it. This proves to me that I can support Israel unconditionally. I dont like Bush nor the entire us governement but if they feel to invade another country let it be iran i'd say.
