Well guys, an amazingly unexpected thing happened last friday.

My dad went to pay the rent on our apartment at the office and there was a flyer from AT&T. Cable internet JUST be came available in our area last week! My dad called them up that day and they are coming to install cable for us tomorrow (tuesday). We have a home NT network linked up by a hub, so my dad went and purchased a DSL/Cable router off amazon last night.

Yay for me.

Yes, exactly. NT = Bad, 2K based on NT is good.

I researched satalite connections for the short time I was living with my mom. When it all came down to it (adding the delay of the round trip to space, and delay of the actual ground connection), about the best ping you could possibly hope for, under near-perfect contitions, would be about 700.

Not to mention... installationg can be anywhere around $600.

We just got cable hooked up, 1700 down/350 up, sub 50 pings, no way in hell would i go for satellite or DSL, this shit rules!!!
