This is the fourth public beta release. Please report bugs to this thread only!
You may download the server binaries from here.

Support for optional soundpack:
Download the soundpack here.
Contains voices for extended playerclasses, as well as shotgun reload sound.
win32 servers and clients: Place it in C:\Return to Castle Wolfenstein\main\
linux servers: Place it in /usr/local/games/wolf/main/
linux players: Place it in /usr/local/games/wolf/main/ or ~/.wolf/main/

Gameplay changes:

  • shotgun max 20 rounds, no longer uses clips
  • assassin targets who expire health no longer get -3 score penalty
  • new /vsay ff
  • spy may pickup sten from killed enemies


Admin changes:

  • team locking now follows swap_teams
  • g_nosuicidepenalty - if set, no -3 score penalty for /kill


Bugfixes:

  • (hopefully) correctly track team swaps now
  • g_noguidtheft crash fixed
  • callvotes not working in rtcw 1.41, fixed
  • erroneous lowscore kicks from server-forced actions (eg forcebalance, shuffle_teams), fixed
  • grenades dropped upon death arent kickable - fixed
  • primed grenades dropped upon death explode prematurely (stock bug), fixed

i mirrored the sound file at our website. the dl is faster and can handle a lot of traffic.

Tested out new version and it works great but for some reason the callvotes still dont work on 1.41. Do i need to add something to it? Says callvotes are disabled.

either use g_voteflags, or set g_allowcmds or g_bancmds. g_allowcmds and g_bancmds take precedence over g_voteflags.

i am back grading my servers to 1.1.45 this release is causing problems on my servers. i dont know if it is a bad pk3 file or what. however the soundpack doesnt work and players are getting kicked for bad or invalid pk3's again.

Heya,

I just tried upgrading to rtcw 1.41 (from 1.33) on Linux and banimod up from 1.0.0 to 1.1.48 and had similar problems. Any user trying to connect got a "banned from server" message. I tried out .45 as well, but no joy. Ended up heading back to 1.0.0, and everything seems to work ok now (but players have to delete the bani/ dir in the wolf dir). I also tried a vanilla 1.41 install and didn't have any probs.

Is there something we can do to enable debug messages or something?

Yeah... I stumbled across that in a thread for an earlier release and tried it out. Still no luck using the current PB client (v1.017) and server (v1.018) stuff. I've been fiddling around with cvars to see if there's something that might be triggering it, but nothing yet.... .45 and .48 are still being fussy. Has someone got a working .48 cfg on a 1.41 server that I can take a look at?

Other than that, I think the next step is going to involve waving a dead chicken over the server and seeing if that appeases the evil spirits. Very Happy

I Thought this was fixed?

on auto balance teams it is supposed to move the players with lowest scores. it doesnt do that on goldrush. it randomly grabs players still. so u can have a huge score on GR and on autobalance u can loose it all and be on losing team.

it works correctly on oltl and objective however.

on goldrush it grabs player carrying the least gold, to avoid switching cows or players carrying gold to the cow

so lets say your score is 85,000, and at the moment you are the only person not carrying gold, you get switched? Crying or Very sad

only if the teams are unbalanced

would you rather someone with score of 50 carrying 20 gold be switched over someone with a score of 5000 and 0 gold?

ok, i figured out a reasonable solution for goldrush

players will be sorted based on actual score + "potential score" (eg the gold they are carrying, were it to be cashed in)

this will go into the next version.
