Just curious: how do you guys plan to handle any false positives in the future? As the ETPro anticheat does not have any auto-update feature (yet?), does that mean that all updates need to be installed manually by all server admins? Any form of anticheat that relies on stale, static data will be out...

3.0.1 - b_cheatkicktime broken (seconds instead of minutes)
It seems like the b_cheatkicktime cvar is not working properly in 3.0.1. When set to a positive value, cheaters do get kicked (which is good), but it seems like they are immediately able to reconnect (which is not so good, obviously). The reason for this is that the cvar currently takes a value in s...

The download rate is limited by both the sv_dl_maxRate cvar on the server and the rate cvar on the client. The cvar with the lowest value determines the actual download rate. So, for an sv_dl_maxRate setting of 42000 you'll have to up the rate cvar on the client to at least 42000 to reach those spee...

Re: Hrmm
set sv_maxRate "90000000" // 10000 standard but poor for ET set sv_dl_maxRate "2000000" // SNOW_DEATH CHANGED THIS took 1 0 off increase/decerease if you have plenty/little spare bandwidth set sv_allowDownload "1" // global toggle for both legacy download and web downl...

In some ways it already is better - because it can limit whole classes of exploits that PunkBuster can't. As one simple example, wallhacks are largely useless as the result of ET Pro - a modification that PunkBuster ( with its extral control ) can't do. Could you be a little more specific? Since th...

Blaz: Yes, you'll find me at QuakeCon again this year. Can't say if there will be an ET tournament, but rest assured that if there's going to be one, I'm going to make sure that every match is to be played blindfolded in last man standing mode with knives only. Anyhow, let me elaborate a bit: ...

In 3.0.0 bugfix 15 it's possible to set conflicting sv_cvar values for one cvar, resulting in the client entering an endless error reporting loop. For example: On the server: sv_cvarempty sv_cvar cg_announcer eq 1 sv_cvar cg_announcer eq 0 map_restart Resulting output on client: etpro: cg_announcer ...

Yeah. In that case we might be discussing two seperate problems in this thread. The client crash I'm describing happens with disconnected, redirected downloads. The files do get transferred without getting corrupted by the web server, however. To me, that indicates the problem lies with the client e...
