i temporarily removed my etpro folder and was going to redownload it from a server, but then decided to extract etpro-3_0_0.pk3 from the testbugfix release. put cgame_mp_x86.dll and ui_mp_x86.dll in the etpro folder. all seems fine now. i get the same error whether i'm executing from seismovision or loading through the menu.

with the previous test builds (downloaded from quaketheism and oldcrows), demo playback was fine.

is it wise to completely disable pb?

afaik the anticheat db's have to be manually updated by the server admins.

pb auto-updates itself (usually).

shouldn't the best solution to cheating be to use them both?

played on the server.. aside from my own lag, everything was peachy.

in demo playback (launched via seismovision), in freecam mode, players and objectives (e.g. main doors on radar, guns on oasis, etc) disappear.

what you could do is.. disable callvote of competition settings in your server.cfg.. (to ensure no pubbers unknowingly load your comp settings and essentially lock out the server--setting g_password will change g_needpass to 1 and will kick everyone who doesn't have the correct password set) create ...
