We did use this one: zeAxis2, and 3.1.8 enforced it on our players. Which caused quite a bit of trouble after the upgrade, because it wasn't present on the download server and I didn't notice it was enforced (I liked it and had it already within my etmain).Rain wrote:I would think that skinpacks would just contain textures, which shouldn't be referenced by the b_realhead code, though...
pure settings and skinpacks

Come on,one version to the next.ET Pro doesn't purposely force it.
Please answer question why, instead of sounding like John Kerry.
you're telling me it wasn't on purpose?
I realize you think the average player age is 14 or less, but really...

If the powers that be wish us not to use skins, jjust say so.
65.162.161.20 if you wish to ban the ip,just thought I'd save you the trouble of looking it up.
The overall thought here is that people who use skins cheat, would you like to discredit that too?
Far be it for me to incur the wrath of the etpro community.
But because there are no more active modders for et,we are forced to deal with----???

Jackal it isn't conspiracy theory, just something the average noob might think
paks work,then they don't.
So you're telling me that the basic code for the mod changed enough to trigger the force download?
Any modification would affect the md5 of the file would it not?
And I'm forgetting the spirit of the mod, competition.
Might be 'fun' , I can't remember.

You've had it answered about 3 or 4 different times in plain English.
Perhaps badly translated German will do better?

Haut packt, Laut packt.)
- b_realHead auf etpro 3,1,8 benutzt mdm und mdx dateien.
- Einige Haut packt (z.B. zeAxis2) enhalten mdm dateien.

The skin pack (zeAxis2) has mdm files (Einige Haut packt (z.B. zeAxis2) enhalten mdm dateien.)
The md3 files within the pk3 aren't referenced, but you're otherwise correct (the mdm files are referenced.)

Well it seems it would be non-trivial to make b_realhead 0 not load the models and still have it switchable without restarting the map, so just extract the .mdx/.mdm files from the pk3 on the server, and everything should be fine :/
If the animations differ, though, you'll want to either not use the pk3, or make sure people download it (Unless you don't mind b_realhead being wrong or disabled)
