In RTCW, r_uifullscreen does remove fog. I'm assuming you are running an ET server.

That said, I wouldn't put any particular weight on the fact that it is PBs example config. DGs guide http://www.rtcw.jolt.co.uk/content/enem ... tions.html is a far more rational source of information.

ok, after some review and your suggestions i put in etpro config :

Code: Select all

command "sv_cvarempty"

command "sv_cvar snaps EQ 20"
command "sv_cvar rate in 10000 25000"
command "sv_cvar cl_maxpackets in 40 100"
command "sv_cvar cl_timenudge EQ 0"

command "sv_cvar r_gamma in 0 3"
command "sv_cvar r_intensity in 0 1.5"
command "sv_cvar r_mapoverbrightbits in 0 2"
command "sv_cvar r_overbrightbits in 0 2"
command "sv_cvar r_picmip in 0 2"
command "sv_cvar r_flares IN 0 1"
command "sv_cvar r_drawentities EQ 1"
command "sv_cvar r_drawworld EQ 1"
command "sv_cvar r_lightmap EQ 0"

command "sv_cvar r_showmodelbounds EQ 0"
command "sv_cvar r_showtris EQ 0"

command "sv_cvar r_znear EQ 3"
command "sv_cvar r_allowextensions EQ 0"
command "sv_cvar r_clamptoedge EQ 1"
command "sv_cvar r_detailTextures EQ 0"

command "sv_cvar r_primitives IN 0 2"
command "sv_cvar r_subdivisions IN 0 20"
command "sv_cvar r_ext_texture_filter_anisotropic EQ 0"
command "sv_cvar r_clamptoedge EQ 1"

command "sv_cvar cg_shadows IN 0 1"
command "sv_cvar cg_thirdperson EQ 0"

command "sv_cvar cl_freelook EQ 1"
command "sv_cvar cl_pitchspeed IN 0 140"
command "sv_cvar cl_yawspeed IN 0 140"
and ppl on server got half of their normal number of fps :/, whats going on ?:( Is it allowextenstions?

p.s rest got in pb cfg:

Code: Select all

pb_sv_cvar cg_bobup in 0 0.005
pb_sv_cvar cg_bobpitch in 0 0.002
pb_sv_cvar cg_bobroll in 0 0.002

pb_sv_cvar m_pitch out -0.011 0.011
pb_sv_cvar m_yaw in -0.022 0.022

pb_sv_cvar r_nv_fogdist_mode INCLUDE NV
;cheat cvars
pb_sv_cvar r_drawworld IN 1
pb_sv_cvar r_znear IN 3
pb_sv_cvar r_showtris IN 0
pb_sv_cvar r_drawentities IN 1
pb_sv_cvar r_showmodelbounds IN 0
pb_sv_cvar r_lightmap IN 0
update:
in old config i forced ppl to get r_allowextensions set to 1, in the new i set to 0 and force to have command snaps EQ 20, rate in 10000 25000 and cl_maxpackets in 40 100....so i think it s all about r_allowextensions...

p.s

So requireing them to be enabled may prevent some people (mostly with older or oddball video cards) from playing.

i think disabling it prevent from playing ppl with old graphic card...

I've never seen a coherent reason for restricting r_allowextensions at all. The configs that do restrict it mostly restrict it to 1 (preventing people from disabling extenstions) Restricting it to 0 is certainly a bad idea, as many normal ET features need opengl extensions for good performance.

yawspeed and pitchspeed control how fast people can turn with keyboard or scripts. 140 is the default.

I agreed, but found that there are some admins who set this command to 0 (googled this info). I would say its rather stupid idea...Watch out this on:

http://rtcw.jolt.co.uk/content/enemy_te ... tions.html

Dubious Cvar Restrictions:

Dubious When Using ETPro&ETMain:

r_allowextensions IN 0

and then click:
http://rtcw.jolt.co.uk/content/enemy_te ... extensions

I based my review on this guide and your suggestions. After spoiling a game some ppl on server i will keep in mind this cmd, eh...

Imho this should be corrected to 1 or removed because of what u said and because it is set to 1 default in ET

Notice this is in the section "Dubious Cvar Restrictions" and the associated comments says
I have no idea what this setting actually is for, but it does cause problems - especially it seems for some Radeon (Mobility?) users. A cvar restriction that appears to have no use and yet causes serious problems is a bad one. If anyone does know of a misuse of this please leave a comment.
