Wow, that was an old bug. And finally fixed.bani wrote:building-mg42-eats-dynamite bug fixed (eg on radar)
Can you explain what was the cause?
The Emperor watch over you.
<3! r0f servers updated & running smooth!
Our servers now run on 64 bit steroids. Point your ET to:
- Forgotten Ground StopWatch Server with occasional wolfrof 1
- Fraggle Rock ETPub Server - Mix up ET/UT & Duke Nukem
- Forgotten Ground StopWatch Server with occasional wolfrof 1
- Fraggle Rock ETPub Server - Mix up ET/UT & Duke Nukem
Found a bug.
On goldrush when Tank Barrier 2 is blown, then rebuilding it puts the barrier there immedeatily (only graphically) without the white transparent stuff. You also do not get caught in "engineering madness" when standing "inside" barrier when it gets constructed.
Demo.
BTW Wolfrof 1 is soooooooooooooooooo fast. OMG.

And sooooooooo not ET.deej wrote:BTW Wolfrof 1 is soooooooooooooooooo fast. OMG.
Don't get me wrong, I fully appreciate all the hard work the ETPro team have put into developing this, but imo, all that will come of this is a divide in the ET community, or possibly the end of ET as a competitive game. I hope the ETPro team surf the internet from time to time to gather opinions from the ET community as a whole. If you think i'm part of a minority, you're mistaken.
Apart from that, every other bugfix etc are spot on as per usual.
right, a majority didn't want it, but not 1 valid argument was made about not having it as an option... so again you're part of a majority...sgone:red. wrote:And sooooooooo not ET.deej wrote:BTW Wolfrof 1 is soooooooooooooooooo fast. OMG.

you must have missed the xp levels limiting and damage xp discussions. et was supposed to have died back then too. wolfrof is pretty tame by comparison.sgone:red. wrote:Don't get me wrong, I fully appreciate all the hard work the ETPro team have put into developing this, but imo, all that will come of this is a divide in the ET community, or possibly the end of ET as a competitive game. if the majority is against it, why are you so terrified of it being a cvar?

The real issue is 'pubbers' vs 'competitors'. Neither group really understands the other, even though they have a lot in common.
What etpro offers is:
Bug fixes (everyone wants these)
Enhanced anticheat (everyone wants this)
Enhanced performance (everyone wants this)
Reliable responses to suggestions and feedback (everyone wants this)
Repairs to unreliable portions of the game code (everyone wants this)
Where things get argumentative lies in the flexible OPTIONS of etpro.
Because they are optional, there are many different kinds of ET servers:
They can be configured to be barebones pro-style no-foliage very tight cvar controls SW only lockboxes, or a pub server that caters to RtCW style maps with RtCW rof and other cvar settings to make the game more RtCW-ish, or hack job anything-goes mod servers (aka !beer or !pizza in adminmod) and other add-ons, that take advantage of the other more important common core features.
Of all the etpro cvars, we only use about a dozen on the servers where I admin ( www.bsdterritory.com , www.broadbandreports.com ). Does that mean your config sucks and ours is the only game in town? Hardly, some people won't play on our servers because we allow spawn camping, much less whether we use etpro or not. If people don't like, they're free to try the other 1000 servers to find one that fits their tastes.
I don't see bani or splash damage making any $ off any of this work, except as research for future FPS projects they may be working on. <cough> RtCW 2 <cough>. Free game + free mod = most excellent. The Wolf ET community has a talented supportive fan base that makes the game work. ETpro is far from mandatory and is very well appreciated by 90%+ of the ET community.
Remember, if there had been no etpro, there would not be any 2.60 ET patch.

BTW -- Any chance of getting Deus' mortar azimuth available as a cvar in future versions?
