big difference between huge publicly owned corporations and small independent businesses such as id Software and Splash Damage

if the Single Player part had been doable, the game would have been retail

Corporations a corporation doesn't matter the size they all work the same way. But whatever all u can do is argue over that = waste of time.

What i was saying is ID/SD won't officialize the installers people have already made. Thats the B.S. right there people have made installers that install the game patched 2.60b and have requested ID/Splashdamage to adopt them as the new installers for the game and post the on the "official" websites, the ones noobs download from. But ID/Splashdamage won't agree to it.

This game is so dam popular ...still #4 with everyone thats left ....i'm sure they would love to see it go so they can finally make some profits from something ...i.e. ET:QW.

That's an incredibly naive view. Corporations are just collections of people, with all the diverse motivations that come with them.

well, I've got the 2.60b full install on our site, and from what I've seen most of the noobs go there not SD's site.
no mention of etpro on SD's site either, Activision has it on the QW site but that's it

Most game review sites advertise new games with old games like ET getting buried in the archives. If you can find the archives they redirect to the planetwolfenstien site. http://www.planetwolfenstein.com/files/files.shtml

The free game sites also link to the planetwolfenstien and sometimes the splashdamage site as i remember.

The linux and mac gaming sites also point to the planetwolfenstien site.

Slashdamage's site has ET posted with the latest patch as 2.60 not the 2.60b. http://splashdamage.com/index.php?page_id=14

Their ET:QW Site has ET posted for d/l also with the 2.60 patch as the "latest" patch, not the 2.60b. http://www.enemyterritory.com/main.html

It seams to me the planetwolfenstein site is the main download page for ET since everyones linking to it which is good because splashdamage doesn't have the 2.60b available for download.

I guess i wasn't as clear as i should have been when i was talking about getting Activision to recognize a new installer the ET community has made called the ET Ultimate Installer 1.5. http://www.kashu.fr/etui/ Two installers have been made the other being the ET Pack 1.3 http://www.crossfire.nu/?x=tutorial&mode=item&id=21 which is no longer in development. They both have asked Activision to adopt their installers as the new base installer, but got no response back from Activision.

Thats what we need is an installer that will install ET patched to 2.60b. IF Activision won't make one, it can adopt the ET Ultimate Installer as the new base ET installer and post it for download at the official ET download sites.

our site was listed as the official site on hundreds of review and free game sites, took me over a year to find and e-mail them to tell them we were just a fan site, granted we have a lot of members (just over 400,000) and we've hosted over twice the downloads that planetwolfenstein has, but w/e.

as said before we have a full 2.60b installer

Thats from you download section, theres nothing about 2.60b, its just torrents for ET:QW and quake and the old patch 2.60.

ET Pro 3.2.0 requires the ET 2.60 patch. If you do not have it, you can get it here http://zerowing.idsoftware.com:6969/
