Lua: positions and how to change em

Hi, i m not a modder but i have a little insight in programming and i been trying to work with luascripting for et
i've worked my way thru the wiki several times but info there is a bit thin.

i m trying to code a lil slap script to make adminning more fun. any hints on moving player entities about(like a real slap) are very welcome.

reyalp pointed out where i was going wrong
still any hints on moving players(like a knockback) instead of "teleporting" them thru lua code would be much appreciated
