Don't worry, German is being ruined in a similar way. You could argue that it's even worse because male persons are excluded outright. Example: male plural form of 'student' = 'Studenten' (was used as generic, neutral term for both genders in the past); female plural form of 'student' = 'Studentinnen'. New way to address all students regardless of gender: 'StudentInnen' [sic].
