Mouse problems ?!?!

Post by hywdx80 »

I'm really getting frustrated. I'm either pubbing in locked box or playing in a scrim when this happens.

Everything works fine then all of a sudden my mouse has spasms and starts aiming upward and shooting. This can happen anywhere from 30 seconds to 1 minute. If I /kill most of the time it fixes the problem.

Once this random annoyance has occurred, my mouse sensitivity is all messed up, (seems a lot slower) not only in ET but also when I /quit and go to windows. I have to reboot each time to restore my mouse sensitivity they way it was before this problem has occurred.

Anyone else experiencing this problem? I don't think it is an ET bug. I think it is a random person(s) playing a prank and it is seriously becoming very annoying.

Thanks

Yea sometimes this happens to me. I have an IBM optical mouse and ever since I got it, it sometimes spazzes out on me. Not really a big deal for me though. Could also have to do with you playing on the locked box server, which sucks so maybe consider never going there again :tut:

I had these problems with my logitech cordless desktop (incl. mouse). if you have a logitech cordless desktop move the transmitter a bit further away from your keyb. worked with me...

I've got this problem, too, but only in ET.
My mouse is "lagging" sometimes, as if my sensitivity var is changing up or down.

I think the issue rearding the sensitivity being different is due to programs running in the background while playing. I often have this problem too and i think i've narrowed it down to be caused by the last program you used before launching ET. For me it was often ventrilo which caused it, so what i did was minimized vent and opened some random application such as calculator, minimized that and then launched ET...that fixed the problem for me. As for the problem with the mouse "spasming" that could be due to the optical sensor, giving it a clean would be an idea.
