Comp suggestion - intermission

Post by dA*Rogue »

Hey guys,

I'd like to suggest an optional 'intermission' period in between rounds, with the intermission duration set in the config. Thus, league admins have the option of setting the maximum amount of time (say, 3 mins) in between rounds before play must resume.

If teams for whatever reason aren't ready when the intermission time expires, they can always use one of their timeouts. Perhaps some kind of countdown a la the timeout commands, warning players that intermission time was about to expire.

I see this as optional (set b_intermission 0/1 in config), and intermission length set by admins (b_intermissiontime x). Perhaps a way for teams to start before intermission time has expired would also be good.

Thoughts?

Steal my idea ;)

Basically, what we're looking for, is the ability to prevent teams from taking 10 minutes between rounds to ready up.

Possible?

Collapse them into the one cvar, b_intermissionTime, with 0 meaning infinite and any other value the number of seconds for intermission.

Maybe 2 cvars:
One a maximum intermission time between SW rounds, the other the maximum intermission time between pairs of rounds or between each game or whatever you want to call it (I go round, game, match)

Like Eagle said, 0 infinite.

b_maxrupround
b_maxrupgame

max rup is cooler than "intermissiontime" :p

Eagle's suggestion for 1 > my proposed 2.

Should be same for "rounds" and "games" Dersaidin.
