Its a leftover from earlier versions.

Some functions of code are only in the qagame_mp_x86.dll/*.so code IIRC, therefor not used when using hostgame from the menu without "dedicated".

I bet I can get it to work. I'll try tonight again and inform you of situation. Thanks for help, anyway.

It is possible to run a dedicated server on the same box you are playing at, you know.

Just make a second install of ET and use that as the dedicated server. changing maps using votes is not really that different from the ingame menu.

you don't actually need a second install of et to do that... but it helps (keeps your maps pruned)... just start a etded.exe with the settings you want, and start an et.exe to connect to local...
etpro (on a previous version) disabled the ability to even run a nondedicated server... they reenabled it (through many objections from the people who actually knew about it)

I use "qagame_mp_x86.dll" distributed with ETPro 3.2.6.

k.
Some people just download etpro by connecting to servers and thus not including the qagame, they fail when trying to start a dedicated server.

I'll think I'll try to run dedicated server at the end. Can you tell me few things before:

1. What config file (is it server.cfg?) should contain all this cvars and settings for dedicated server?
2. Where this config file should be located?
3. And will running dedicated server and another game on same machine greatly impact performance of either game or server or both?

And, Deus... You were right.

Note to Bani: Disable HOST game from main menu if it isn't any good.

you should have/put all relevant settings in etpro/server.cfg and make a shortcut: "path/to/ETded.exe +set fs_game etpro +set dedicated 1 +exec server.cfg +set net_port 12345"

make sure there is no server.cfg in etmain

dues has answered this...

You may notice some slow down on server (mainly in map loads and things), but not much more then what you'd see in nondedicated servers

He did, but alot of people whined constantly for months and got him to reenable it

not dedicated server does not like files that are not from PK3s
either use dedicated or just put that directory to PK3

Correct way to disable HOST menu would be to force it to start dedicated, or remove it completly, but still keep map/devmap commands working

// EPILOGUE:

After digging the forums and everything, I finally managed to create dedicated server and *magically* everything worked without a flaw!!!
Hosting game from in-game menu (as listen server) is NOT A GOOD IDEA because you loose all goodies that makes etpro (and other mods too) so good.

To conclude: Host game su*ks big time!!!
