vote on k43/garand balance

the k43 and garand arent balanced at the moment:

k43 - 10 rounds per clip, can reload mid-clip
garand - 8 rounds per clip, cannot reload mid-clip

this is bad for competition play.

How bout just give the garand more ammo, and leave the k43 the same?

In real life, you can't reload a garand in mid clip.

they were not balanced during ww2 either.

this would be a good idea for bayonet but i don't like the idea for ETPro

its for etpro. unbalanced weapons arent good for competition, it gives axis too much of an advantage.

they balanced the mp40 and thompson, so the k43/garand should be balanced also.

i think 8 round would be more thne enough for an enginner caz they already got all cool stuff like mines

Of the options given, my vote is 10 rds/clip with reload. 8 rds/clip with reload would be my second choice. The no-reload thing is the biggest disadvantage against SMGs, IMO.

That said, another option would be to give the garand some other advantage. Some possibilities:
- greater accuracy
- more damage
- extra clip
- faster reload
If you still wanted it to be exactly equal, you could give either team the option of the k43 or garand. Without rebalancing the garand, this would be pointless, because no one would ever use it :P

TBH, I'm not sure they need to be balanced for competition. Yes, it gives the axis and advantage, but on asymetric maps, that doesn't really matter. It is still fair in stopwatch mode, and in other modes, map balance will far outweigh the differences between k43 and garand. I know most of the competition groups are very reluctant to change gameplay, probably due to the arguments it will create...

That still gives the K43 an advantage because of the grenades it uses.

If the people playing want to be balanced, they should just use the thompson/mp40.

cov opps on the allied side are definitely at a disadvantage. however ill still take your head off with a garand or a k43. just give the garand more ammo to start off with in reserve.

or just make all of these server settings and let the admin decide.

having every server with different settings is bad for competition. maybe for BayonET but not ETPro...

Maybe make 'em both that you can reload when you want but lose the the half full clip. I think is pretty t fair and kind of realistic.
