Teamspeak integration with ET

Post by Bombosman »

Excuse me by this a-little-offtopic post, but some people once asked about this feature. There are some related utilities like the followings.

For windoze:

http://www.qbnut.com/tso/

and

http://tsdisp.sourceforge.net/

For linux:

http://c167.kicks-ass.net/~projects/ts2osd/

Is there a chance to use the code in this programs to get Teamspeak support under ETPro? Well, maybe it isn't worth... But, you know, wondering is for free!

Does this one work for you with etpro ?

It seems, when i enter a server running etpro 3.0.X (have not tested any other version), then the ingame display disappears :(. No problems on etmain / shrub servers. Has this something to do with a vid_restart or something ?

teamspeak is written in delphi, et is not. from what i've heard, if 3.0 is released soon enough (3.0 is being rewritten to c++,) the etpro guys could integrate the sdk. otherwise, they would have to rewrite the teamspeak sdk themselves first.

at least that's what i've heard about it.

This seems to be interesting, but one of those (for Windows at least) mention they use OpenGL/DirectX hooks, similar to what Fraps does.

Since Fraps were once considered cheats (false-positives), can these applications be considered cheats as well ?

Actually, the anticheat system detects TSO as a cheat.
The log shows the following:

357:27 etpro IAC: 13 [***] [B3C396C34F031FFEADAD721A2FDF581804D6854A] [^3CHEATER^7 win3
357:27 etpro IAC: W5LvWCMj9Tg6dI41-IE58Dx4KtTBR58ZQ-SoOQoR0Nxxbs+qRtiMMrjuRB7-WW8OSSwvyGKdtDQuxAil1QIPIY35a+PuBF0VcKR+kTicnjlkkAIM+wO53sDLWS4DbOsY4zOnAfuyuLB5sXXAPp7H5Tg8I60AEGuCxRqGU-B0OwkIh6Xl
359:08 etpro IAC: 13 [***] [B3C396C34F031FFEADAD721A2FDF581804D6854A] [^3CHEATER^7 win32]

Would it be possible to render TSO "legal"?

BTW, I have no idea about programming but I would guess that at least the Linux version (TS2OSD) is not compiled using Delphi (seems to be just a plain C file of only 12kb).

thats because tso hacks opengl the way wallhacks do.

we'll look at adding detection for tso.

As i said. I tried to use it with eptro 3.0.10 yesterday. No cheater warnings (maybe i just didn't notice, but i try later again), but it didn't work at all. It directly disappeared on the loading screen (while connecting to the server). Shrub / etmain worked perfect.

You guys had it running with etpro 3.0.10 ?

I believe ETPro not only tried/managed to unload it, but it also won't report you as a cheater to YOURSELF. That's what I got from messages scattered on the forum. The dev team should be able to confirm that.

Thank's a lot Bani. Anyway, I'd say that TS integration with ETPro would be the proper way

Just to revive a little bit the subject: some related work has been done por CoD, see

http://www.xs4all.nl/~pjorna3d/TSvCoDInfo.html

You can even get the source code (just be polite when asking for it  ).

Is the detection already added to 3.0.11? If not, is there a ETA (in which version)?
