i understood that 3rd person view is kind of a cheat.

but i would like to see how its looks becuase i love games with 3rd person view option and i just want to play a little bit with it any way is there any1 that can tell me how do play with 3rd person. it just for a test (i know that in the demos you can see from 3rd person but i want to play as 3rd person not only see the game from 3rd person.

there are also vars cg_thirdpersonangle and cg_thirdpersonrange

lol I just played a round of maniacmansion in 3rd person, it was a bit harder

You can use forcecvar to do this in etpro, but be warned that punkbuster is hardcoded to kick you for this if you are not the server host.

how i force it on ET PRO i know some servers with et PRO that dont kick cheaters.

any way it just for enjoying the game and not to do it all the time.

You need rcon or server access. Use the command:

forcecvar sv_cheats 1

Then on your client you'll be able to select

cg_thirdPerson 1
cg_thirdPersonRange.... etc

wrong kind of cheaters... you just disable pb then you won't have to worry about being kicked for it... but pb will be disabled

i told you i know a server that there is pb but it dont kick ppl even if they cheat.

i host a game and i disabled pb and still it gave me massages that pb is running and he runs on old version and i disabled it, when i tryed to use 3rd person view it sayed that this cheat is provented or something anyway i cant open a server for my self without pb ? and still i wanna know how to force it so i could see it.

i tryed forcecvar sv_cheats 1 but it doesnt recognize the forcecvar command. so pls help.

ok... pb will not kick you for using sv_cheats, however it will kick you for using 3rd person, easiest way to disable pb is never enable it... remove it from your cfg...

to enable cheats on your server (easiest way) is to devmap the map...
/rcon devmap battery

you can also use etpro's forcecvar to force sv_cheats 1 and then you can use third person...
if your wanting to use /rcon forcecvar sv_cheats 1, probably use a map restart

ok i entered the game i desabled punkbuster i restarted the game and then entered host game then i tryed in the console
/sv_cheats 1 - it told me its read only then i tryed /rcon sv_cheats 1
again read only. /rcon forcecvar sv_cheats 1 i tryed to didnt work.
i wrote \rcon cg_thirdperson 1 - still the same answer this cheat is protected. in the end i tryed \rcon devmap oasis it stuck and got out of the game i tryed several times and it doesnt want to do devmap.

and about forcecvar this command is only for et pro ? if yes it should work if i try it on other ppl server ? becuase to try it alone is 1 thing but with ppl its much more fun. besides i didnt secceded to play alone.

so if you can help me with my problems i will be greatfull to you.

Easy3rdperson tutorial:

1. install et if not already done.
2. install etpro if not already done
3. start et with option +set fs_game etpro
4. host a server with dedicated none
5. open console
6. /forcecvar sv_cheats 1 (maybe use /rcon forcecvar but must also work without
7. /cg_thirdperson 1
8. /cg_thirdpersonangle (optional, if not happy with standardangle)
9. /cg_thirdpersonrange (optional, if not happy with standardrange)
10. close console
11. play and manage nothing because 3rd person et sux

If you use devmap set g_gametype to 2 (objective) or else it won't work.
